Frequently asked questions

  • Clients typically contact me when facing a challenge, be it at work, in their relationships or with their health and wellbeing. Common topics are

    • Dealing with emotions, for example: feeling stuck, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, stressed, lacking purpose or lonely.

    • Struggling with self-defeating beliefs (e.g. “I’m not enough”, “I’m not good enough”, “I’ll never find love”, “I’m not worthy”).

    • Self-defeating behaviours (e.g. isolation, avoidance, overthinking, addictive behaviour, being "out of control").

    • In the face of new beginnings, during transition phases, stagnation periods, facing crossroads. Also when faced with grief, loss, heartbreak or conflict, being inner conflicts and with others.

    • Identity challenges: who am I, where do I belong, what am I worth, also in light of sexual and gender diversity or any diverse trait.

  • Yes and no.

Just like myself, many of my clients belong to marginalised communities. This allows us to understand and authentically relate to each other as well as build trust more easily, find inspiration, value and meaning in our shared experience. In sessions, I don’t shy away from sharing my own personal story as well as resources that worked out well for me with my clients. This way they may benefit also from the insights and knowledge I've acquired through my experience in dealing with hardships and overcoming all sorts of challenges and struggles. I'm also working in the field of diversity and inclusion at the workplace, so it makes sense that many of my clients are LGBTIQA+, people who are racialised, migrants, neurodiverse people and so on.

That said, I have clients from all walks of life and I welcome people with all sorts of experiences.

  • Most people much rather offer help than ask for it. It has much to do with pride. So many of us were taught to rely only on themselves. Yet some of them come to feel that this belief is holding them back.

At first, most of my clients struggled with their challenges on their own, before they sought support fron others. For many of them the very act of reaching out was transformational.

It is ok to struggle and It's ok to try and sort things out all by our own! However, some of us grind ourselves to exhaustion while trying at all costs and that's both counter-productive and unkind towards ourselves! There are other options. We don't have to strain ourselves.

It's an essential resource to know when to reach out for support outside our ourselves. Some people call it (getting) "help for self-help".

  • Personal development and growth is work just like any other type of work. There's no hocus pocus invlolved. Change happens when you allocate resources like time and effort to enable it.

My work consists of perspective-changing conversations, held with love and care, as well as sharing tools, technics and skills with my clients. For some people working on small assignments in the time between our sessions makes a lot of sense.

My experience has taught me that working with the right tools (what "right" is different to each person) clients notice how all of a sudden it becomes much easier to get where they want to get to.

I live by the motto “progress not perfection”. This allows transformational work to be enjoyable work.

The only thing you need is a mindset. Be willing to put in the effort, keen to learn and open to invite positive change and commit to it. This attitude is all you need.
